So, one day we were digging in the yard. Being mountain children, on a 10+ acre property, we found things like this "fun".
We found what we thought was an ancient spoon made from stone. Kept diggin in that spot till it was deeper than we were tall. We were getting bored. And thought about asking the younger kids if they wanted to play tag. Since the older kids always won, it was always fun. For us, at least. Though, on this day, we thought up a brilliant idea to spice it up with a little extra fun.
We dug about 20 holes around the property verying in depths. But, most being about our height. We memorized where all the holes were. Then, covered then with twigs and brush to make booby traps. We played tag with the little kids. Under their condition that we give them a head start. So we did. And boy did we have fun watching them drop into holes like Par 20 stupidity level with a hole in one each time!!
We used the holes for entertainment on a few other occassions... I think the most entertaining of all was every time our dad came storming into the house. "Who planted a freaking booby trap in my yard." giggling under our breaths.... trying to hold it in... it was just toooooo good. "You kids better fill those frickin holes!!!!" we'd bust up laughing every time he left back outside to work.
We eventually filled them when our dad offered to pay us to fill them. Score!!!! Paid entertainment!!
